impossible."

Marco Polo University
Honors Program
The honors program at MPIU is designed to broaden the intellectual growth of its
most motivated and creative students. The MPIU Honors Program challenges students to go beyond their expectations,
allowing them to hone their battle tested critical thinking ability, regardless of the field of information which
they are passionate about. The critical thinking educational experience at Marco Polo helps students become high
caliber contributors to society and build their individual dreams into reality.
Admission to and Completion of
the MPIU Honors Program
Regular admission to the honors program is automatically granted to students who declare their intention any
time between mid-Level III and at least 30 days prior to the completion of Level IV. Honors thesis coaching for
Bachelor's degrees will be done by the Liberal Studies Department. The honors thesis will carry the approval of the
Liberal Studies Department when it goes to the student's actual degree department Chair for final acceptance. Up to
30 days will be allowed for Chair acceptance or denial of the student's honor thesis, once the 10-15 minute Skype
interview session is complete.
The Honors Levels
The honors program consists of two levels: Honors Scholar with Distinction and Honors Scholar with High
Distinction. In all honors program levels the thesis can be tied into the final degree thesis or project, whenever
possible. Completion of the honors program segments is not mandatory for all students, just those students wishing
to participate in the honors program. A student must be in good standing with the chosen degree department in order
to receive the honors award.
